Early education in Raymond Terrace & Port Stephens
St Nicholas Early Education Raymond Terrace is a 77-place centre featuring a 12-place nursery for children aged 0 - 15 months, a generous toddler program, a 2 ½ - 3 ½ year program and a preschool program catering to children aged 3 ½ - 5 years.
The programs are designed to provide educationally sound and age appropriate curriculum for each learning area. We have created spaces that include construction, creativity and exploration that encourages our young learners to extend in all areas of learning.
Our team of educators are a mix of original and new to the St Nicholas Early Education program, and are all incredibly excited for you to see the inspired environments.
We welcome all new and previous families to come to our orientations happening 14 - 18 January from 3.00pm - 5.00pm to meet the team and see the transformation of the learning spaces.
Operating from 6.30am - 6.00pm, the early education services offered by St Nick’s Raymond Terrace include nursery cot linens, nappies and a full-service food menu which includes: a breakfast bar, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Transition to School Program at St Nick’s Raymond Terrace
Children enrolled in the preschool program at St Nick’s take part in our Transition to School Program.
Our Transition to School Program makes the transition from preschool into a primary school environment an enjoyable part of each child’s learning journey by familiarising preschoolers with the sites, sounds and routines of “big-kid school”.
Working with our preschoolers, the educators at St Nick’s:
encourage children to take part in group activities where they learn to communicate and use their words
give children the opportunity to develop relationships amongst their peer group
support children in participating and cooperating rather than competing
work with children to develop prosocial behaviours such as taking turns, listening to others and being patient
offering children opportunities to be responsible for their own belongings
