Career progression at St Nicholas Early Education

Cory has been an educator at St Nicholas Early Education Lochinvar since the beginning of 2019 and is extremely grateful to the service for allowing him to progress within his career.

“I found St Nick’s and fell in love with the community and the people here,” Cory said of his first impression of St Nick’s.

Since then, Cory has taken multiple steps forward in his career in a short period of time.

“I finished a Certificate III and then moved through to a Diploma in Early Childhood Education,” he said. “I finished my Traineeship [at Lochinvar] and now I’m studying a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary.”

Cory commenced his Traineeship at another service, but was elated to find out St Nick’s would allow him to complete his studies at their Lochinvar centre, closer to where he lives.

“They didn’t have to take on a Trainee, but they did,” Cory said, “and they’ve paved the way for me to be able to continue my career in the industry.”

“They’ve also allowed me to take some time off for my prac for university,” he continued, “which is really helpful because I wouldn’t be able to continue my career without that prac time. They’re very supportive of me as a developing educator.”

“I’m looking forward to continuing my career here at St Nick’s.”
