Follow along with the construction of St Nicholas Early Education Aranda

St Nicholas Early Education Aranda will be the first St Nicholas centre to open in the Australian Capital Territory and the first child care centre to be built in the area since 1994.

Due to open its doors in early 2020, St Nicholas Early Education Aranda will be an eight-room, 131-place early education and care centre located near St Vincent’s Primary School.

The centre will feature two, 12-place nurseries for children aged 0-2 years, two 15-place two-year-old programs, two three-year-old programs [one 17-place and one 20-place], and two 20-place preschool programs for children aged four-five.

As with all St Nicholas Early Education centres, Aranda will feature a full-service food menu catering for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. All food will be prepared onsite by an early childhood cook.

Additionally, the centre will be one of the only long day care centres operating in the area, opening from 6:30AM – 6PM weekdays.

Its outdoor areas will feature vast, natural, immersive play spaces designed to inspire and challenge children whilst extending their learning.

A Reggio Emilia-influenced curriculum

St Nicholas Early Education Aranda will introduce St Nick’s Reggio Emilia-influenced curriculum to the Australian Capital Territory.

This curriculum is child-centred and play-based, with educators working with each child on an individual level to gain an understanding of their wants, needs, interests and strengths in order to extend their learning through play.

A child’s play is the foundation of their learning journey. It is how children experience, explore and examine the world around them whilst learning social, cognitive and emotional skills.

St Nick’s Transition to School program

A standout feature of St Nicholas Early Education Aranda’s preschool program will be its Transition to School Program

St Nicholas Early Education’s Transition to School Program familiarises children with the primary school environment and introduces them to the routines and feelings that will be a part of their day when they make the transition from preschool to kindergarten.
