A message from Sean Scanlon, CEO of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle
Ever since St Nicholas Early Education Raymond Terrace opened its doors in January of this year, we have been pleased with the level of support our newest early education centre has been able to provide to families in the communities of Raymond Terrace and Port Stephens and how quickly the centre has become a part of the fabric of the community.
With the success of St Nicholas Early Education Raymond Terrace, we aim to keep the ball rolling by opening four more centres - in Branxton, Maitland, Muswellbrook and the Australian Capital Territory.
Our Maitland development will include Vocational Training programs through St Nicholas Pathways agency which will provide training for people who want to qualify to be early childhood educators.
The development of St Nicholas Pathways is part of our commitment to being an employer of choice and will allow us to ensure future early childhood educators are educated and qualified to the high standard set out by St Nicholas Early Education.
St Nicholas Pathways also provides an exciting opportunity to partner with the Catholic Schools Office in order to provide students in our schools the opportunity to work in the early childhood sector.
With the continued roll-out of centres and the development of St Nicholas Pathways, it is an exciting and busy time at St Nick’s and this is an important part of what we do here at the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
