Working at St Nicholas Early Education: Mandy
Mandy is an early childhood teacher at St Nicholas Early Education Raymond Terrace and credits her diverse background in education as playing a key part in assisting children through St Nicholas Early Education’s Transition to School program.
“I’m an early childhood teacher so I have a Bachelor of Education,” Mandy said. “I’ve worked in schools for many years and have found it useful to be able to use those skills and know where the children are going, right from zero through to their school years.”
When asked what initially drew her to applying for a role at St Nicholas, Mandy says it was the service’s philosophy - which she said aligns closely with her own personal philosophy about early education.
Mandy said: “I love St Nick’s philosophy because it aligns with my personal philosophy of teaching as well. I was also really excited to work with some great people and a great organisation.”
Among her favourite things about working at St Nicholas Early Education, Mandy said, are the people - the educators and children - she gets to work alongside everyday.
“I love working at St Nick’s because I have a great team of educators working alongside me and I love working with the children who make it joyful every day to come to work,” Mandy said. “I really enjoy what I do.”
